Director’s Message

Welcome to Mineral County Library!

Our main library is located in Hawthorne and a smaller but lovely branch is in Mina.

Visitors are often surprised by the many offerings of our libraries despite the location in rural Nevada. While physical books, movies, audiobooks, and magazines are offered in the library, many patrons have found the ease and convenience of the 24/7 library through our online resources. E-books, e-audios, streaming video, language learning, recipe sites, test preparation for college, LinkedIn Learning training, and numerous databases can be accessed from our website. The helpful staff can assist you in accessing all of our offerings and go above and beyond in helping with computer skills and even how to use your smart phone.

As a part of the Nevada Library Cooperative, our libraries offer access to materials from consortium members. Staff members can assist you in finding and borrowing items from the consortium libraries.

Both libraries have specialized literacy computer stations for children which access thousands of learning programs, but do not access the Internet. The Hawthorne library has a Virtual Reality station as well as Xbox and Wii stations available for play.

We offer events throughout the year which may include craft sessions and live performances. Keep track of events by visiting this website.

The staff and I look forward to your visit.
